Answers to Frequently Asked Questions |
Is APS a painful treatment? No, APS is a very easy and painless treatment to use. You should not feel anything. APS uses electricity, is this harmful? No, it is battery operated and is very safe. APS uses micro-current energy which is 1/1,000,000 of an amp. Which is very akin to the body’s own energy. Is APS the same as a TENS machine? No. Tens blocks the pain signal going to the brain - it suppresses the Pain, whereas APS stimulates the body to heal itself. What does the APS Therapy machine cost? We have three different machines that ranges in price. The device is very cost effective, especially if you take into consideration the cost of medicine. Does APS Therapy have a warranty? Yes, all our products have a 1 year full warranty. Do you offer a money-back guarantee? In the rare case of you not receiving a benefit of using the APS machine, we will gladly give you a 70% money-back guarantee within 30 days of purchase. I take painkillers and ant-inflammatory tablets. Can I still use APS? Yes. APS will not interfere with most painkillers but the treatment may be a little slower. As treatment progresses most people are able to reduce or stop taking painkillers completely. However, some heavy painkillers like Tramadol occupy the receptors of the nerve cells. APS TherapyTM needs these receptors to work. And when receptors are taken they cannot be used for other purposes. Tramadol is a painkiller which is an opiate. Another option is to ask you GP if you can transfer to a NSAID’s . NSAID stands for “Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs”. NSAID’s are used for breaking down inflammations and also have a painkilling effect. They can also lower fever. These NSAID’s have less negative effect on the APS TherapyTM. Examples of NSAID’S are: Ibuprofen, Diclofenac and Naproxen. How quickly will I see results? We are all so very different. It varies from person to person depending on what condition is being treated and how long the person has had it. Some people get good results within a few days to a few weeks. Others it will take a little longer. What is APS used for? APS is not only for treating pain, it is excellent for maintaining good metabolic balance, as well as improving the immune system. Its’ method of pain relief is to encourage the body to heal itself. It does so by improving Blood Circulation and generating the production of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate). What is ATP? ATP – Nature’s Energy Store. All living things, plants and animals, require a continual supply of energy in order to function. The energy is used for all the processes which keep the body alive. Some of these processes occur continually, such as the metabolism of foods, the synthesis of large, biologically important molecules, e.g. proteins and DNA, and the transport of molecules and ions throughout the body. Other processes occur only at certain times, such as muscle contraction and other cellular movements. Animals obtain their energy by oxidation of foods, plants do so by trapping the sunlight using chlorophyll. However, before the energy can be used, it is first transformed into a form which the body can handle easily. This special carrier of energy is the molecule Adenosine Tri-phosphate, or ATP. “I don’t want you to make a special journey to see me, as I will feel under pressure.” We are the sole distributors for APS in New Zealand, and we spend all week every week giving treatments to people throughout the North Island. So I am usually in or near your area about every fortnight. We can travel to the South Island on request. If APS is so good, why has my doctor or my therapist not heard of it? The medical profession can be very conservative. Many new medical technologies are not taught at university and the profession can be slow to take on new technology . Some Doctors can an be resistant simply because they have no expertise in new fields. People in the medical profession who have used APS therapy - and there are many, are highly impressed and there are a lot of excellent revues from doctors, physiotherapists and even surgeons. 40-50,000 devices are being used worldwide, and there are many countries where medical practitioners have come to recognise the benefits that APS has to offer, and have embraced the technology. APS Therapy (NZ) is now making a concerted effort to train practitioners of all disciplines so that more patients are introduced to the benefits of APS. Given the cost-pressures on hospitals and G.P. surgeries it is in now only a matter of time before APS achieves more universal acceptance. How often will I need new Pads? Generally speaking they will need to be replaced every 2-3 months but that depends on your skin type and how many treatments you are doing each day. Can I use it on friends and other members of my family? We recommend you check with us as there are some people it is not suitable for. These include people with pace makers and pregnant women. |
