How APS Therapy Works
How the body works

The cells within the human body are like tiny electrolytic batteries each with a potential current
of approximately four pico-amps or four trillionths of an amp. It is this intricate, bioelectrical
circulatory system that allows one cell to communicate with its neighbour through
electro-magnetic signalling.

When the body is functioning normally the bioelectrical function of these cells remains in an
ordered and regulated fashion. However, during times of injury or disease it appears that the
bioelectrical functions of these cells is quite different to healthy ones. Injured cells disrupt the
current flow to and between cells thereby impeding the channels on intercellular
communication, which may negatively alter the normal healing processes.

How the body responds to trauma

When a muscle experiences trauma it goes into spasm to protect itself. This decreases
blood supply reducing the amount of oxygen and nutrients that reach it. The decreased
circulation causes an accumulation of waste products which causes noxious input that
results in pain.
Due to the constriction of the muscle, the injured site has a much higher electrical resistance
than that of the surrounding tissue. Basic physics dictates that electricity flows towards the
path of least resistance.

Therefore, the body's own action potential nerve impulses avoid the area of high resistance
and take the easiest path, generally around the injury. The decreased electrical flow through
the injured area decreases the cellular capacitance (the ability of a body to hold an electrical
charge) and as a result, healing is impaired.

APS Therapy

The APS Therapy is an exact replication of the body’s microcurrent and application to an
injured site augments the current flow. This allows the traumatised area to regain its
capacitance. The resistance of the injured tissue is then reduced, allowing bioelectricity to
enter the area to re-establish homeostasis. Therefore, APS Therapy can be viewed
as a catalyst in initiating and perpetuating the numerous chemical and electrical reactions
that occur in the healing process.

Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) is the cell's main energy source and an essential factor in the
healing process. Large amounts of ATP are required in cells to control primary functions
such as the movement of vital minerals like sodium, potassium, magnesium and
calcium, into and out of the cell. It also sustains the movement of waste products out of the
cell. Injured cells are deficient in ATP.

As the APS Therapy action potential microcurrent replenishes ATP, nutrients can again flow
into injured cells and waste products can flow out. This is rudimentary for the development of
healthy tissues.

ATP also provides the energy tissues require to build new proteins, increase protein
synthesis and increase membrane transport of ions.

Positive effects of APS Therapy

In research and clinical studies worldwide, after APS Therapy treatments, the following
positive effects have been noted:

Cellular regeneration and increased protein synthesis
• Enhanced soft-tissue healing
• An increase in ATP up to 500%
• Increased energy for cell metabolism and injury repair
Increased cellular membrane transport by 40%
• The reduction of soft-tissue swelling and inflammation
Improved DNA synthesis
• For soft-tissue cell regeneration
Activation of T-Lymphocytes
• To strengthen the immune system
Dilation of Blood Vessels
• Results in increased blood circulation, which speeds up the removal of morbid metabolic
waste from the muscles
• Antibodies, hormones, enzymes and other biochemical compounds are conveyed at a
quicker rate to the affected area

Blood Circulation

There is an increase in blood circulation after treatment with the APS Therapy (Preliminary
results from Royal Brisbane Hospital in Australia)

The following results were obtained using a process called Medical Thermography. Infrared
photographs were taken of a patient's limbs before and after treatment with the APS Therapy
and the results are nothing short of astounding!

Thermographic imaging shows body heat as colour. White and red are the hottest
(correlating with the pain)& blue is the coolest.
Image 1 was taken immediately before treatment with APS. Image 2 shows the electrodes
being applied, image 3 is five minutes after treatment showing the obvious reduction &
upward movement of the hot spots and image 4 was taken ten minutes after treatment and
shows the hot spots have almost gone & the body is ejecting the problem substances.

Action Potential Restored

The natural nerve impulses are allowed to flow freely.
When the natural flow of action potentials is restored and neuro-hormones are released
which raises the pain threshold in that part of the body, resulting in less or no further pain.
